Eddy: I didn't use a skillet but baked it instead. Had a great flavor and 14-year old grandson, wife and daughter loved it. So did I.

Thanks Eddie. When I was in the Army I spent one of my tours in the Azores. Food was great. My wife loves French toast so as soon as I receive my loaf I will make us some. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Eddie. St. Louis is in the USA. LOL. We are in Missouri. ☺ I did order it online. Bakeries in St. Louis are predominantly German, Italian and Eastern European.

Eddy: Recipe shows a serving of 6 but only uses 8 slices of bread. That math does not add up. If it is 2 slices per person then the number of bread slices would be 12 not 8. I am, looking forward to trying this. My only problem is I have to order the bread from the east coast as i cannot find a bakery in St. Louis that makes it. Thanks.
