The pork is slow-cooked in its marinade, creating tender, flavorful meat that's slightly spicy and tangy. Traditionally served in a soft Portuguese roll, bifanas are often accompanied by mustard or hot sauce, enhancing their bold taste. The Porto variation is known for its richer, more intensely seasoned sauce compared to other regional versions. Bifanas are a beloved street food in Portugal, often enjoyed with a cold beer, and reflect the country’s love for simple, hearty flavors.
