The process typically involves scoring the chestnut shells to prevent them from bursting during boiling. Once cooked, the shells and inner skins are easily removed, revealing the tender, slightly sweet flesh inside. These chestnuts can be enjoyed on their own, added to soups, salads, or even desserts. Rich in carbohydrates, fiber, and vitamins, boiled chestnuts are a nutritious treat, especially popular during autumn and winter months. Their creamy texture and subtle sweetness make them a comforting and flavorful addition to various dishes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs of chestnuts

  • 4 litres of water (cold water)

Tips:

  • Wash your chestnuts before boiling with cold water.
