Delicious Coconut Custard Pie (Tarte de Coco e Natas)
Ingredients
1 store-bought puff pastry sheet
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut (about 4.25 oz)
1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
1 carton heavy cream (about 3/4 cup or 6.76 oz)
6 eggs
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Roll out the puff pastry in a pan with a removable bottom.
Prick the crust with a fork and trim any excess.
In a bowl, mix the eggs with the shredded coconut.
Then add the sweetened condensed milk and heavy cream and mix everything well.
Pour the mixture over the pastry.
Bake for about 30 minutes, depending on your oven (do the toothpick test to check for doneness).
Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and then remove from the pan.
Decorate with shredded coconut or dust with powdered sugar.
