Marcia's Moist, Rich and Indulgent Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
1 cup (250 ml) all-purpose flour
1 cup (250 ml) sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cup (125 ml) oil
1/2 cup (125 ml) cocoa powder
1/2 cup (125 ml) boiling water
1 teaspoon baking powder
Preparation
Preheat the oven at 350°F (180°C).
Beat the sugar and eggs together until well mixed.
Add the oil, cocoa powder, and the flour combined with baking powder.
Mix thoroughly, then gradually add the hot water while stirring continuously.
Pour the batter into a greased pan (use butter/margarine and cocoa powder for dusting).
Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Once done, remove the cake from the pan and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
