Ingredients

1 lb of white beans1 onion, chopped2 garlic cloves, chopped1/2 cup of olive oil2 ripe tomatoes, chopped1/2 chouriço, sliced1 bay leaf1/2 cup of white wine1 red bell pepper, choppedPepper (to taste)Salt (to taste)5 squids, cut into pieces1 lb of shrimp

Preparation

  1. If you are using dry beans, the day before, soak them in water.
  2. On the day of cooking, cook the beans in salt water in a pressure cooker for about 20 minutes, after cooking set aside still in the water.
  3. Cook the shrimp and season with salt, after boiling, cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Keep the broth/water from the shrimp, peel the shrimp but leave some with the skin to decorate.
  5. In a pan, sauté the the onion and the garlic with the olive oil.
  6. When the onion starts to brown, add the tomatoes, the bay leaf, the chouriço and the squid.
  7. Let it boil for 10 minutes then add the shrimp broth/water.
  8. When the squid is tender, add the bell pepper, as well as the cooked beans with a little of the bean water, season with salt and pepper and let it sit a little.
