Ingredients

350g (1 and 1/2 cups) of rice1 medium-sized Savoy cabbage, chopped1 chopped onion2 cloves of garlic, chopped3 tomatoes, peeled and chopped2 bay leaves1 dl (100 ml) of olive oil1 chouriço, slicedSalt to tastePepper to taste1 liter of water

Preparation

  1. In a wide pot, heat the olive oil and add the chopped onion, chopped garlic, and bay leaves and let it all sauté.
  2. After the onion is sautéed, add the sliced chouriço.
  3. Fry for a while, add the tomatoes and let it sauté.
  4. Add 1 liter of water and let it boil.
  5. Once the water starts boiling, add the cabbage.
  6. Season with salt and pepper and let it boil.
  7. When it starts boiling, add the washed rice.
  8. Stir everything and let it cook for 17 minutes.
  9. If necessary, add more water.
  10. After 17 minutes, it is ready to serve.
