Ingredients

400g of green beans3 eggs160g of all-purpose flour1 tablespoon of olive oil1 teaspoon of baking powder100ml of beerJuice of half a lemonSalt to tastePepper to tasteOil for frying

Get Portuguese ingredients

Preparation

  1. With a knife, trim the ends of the green beans and cut them in half vertically (if the pods are very long, cut them in half).
  2. In a pot of boiling water, season with salt and cook the green beans for 4 minutes.
  3. After 4 minutes, drain the green beans and let them cool.
  4. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add the beer and lemon juice.
  6. Beat and add the eggs one by one.
  7. Once well beaten, let it rest for 30 minutes.
  8. Dip each green bean in the batter and fry in hot oil.
  9. Once golden brown, remove them to a plate lined with paper towels.
