Ingredients

2 small apples100 g of walnut kernels + additional as needed250 g of flour200 g of sugar80 g of margarine6 eggs100 ml of milk1 teaspoon of baking powderGround cinnamon to taste (optional)Margarine for greasing

Preparation

  1. Grease a baking pan with margarine and preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a bowl, beat the margarine with the sugar until creamy.
  3. Then add the eggs one by one while continuously beating.
  4. Add the baking powder and flour, beat well, and gradually add the warm milk, continuing to beat until you get a smooth batter.
  5. Peel 1 1/2 apples, remove the core, and cut them into small cubes.
  6. Add the cubed apples to the batter along with the 100 g of roughly chopped walnut kernels, mix well, and pour into the prepared pan.
  7. Peel and core the remaining half apple, slice it, and arrange the slices on top of the batter.
  8. Sprinkle with more walnut kernels and ground cinnamon, if desired.
  9. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from the oven, unmold, and let it cool.
