Ingredients

1 chicken (1.1 to 1.3 lbs max)2 or 3 chili peppers (piri-piri)3 or 4 garlic cloves1 cup of olive oilJuice of half a lemon1 leveled teaspoon of paprika1 tablespoon of brandy or cognacCoarse salt to tasteOregano to taste Get Portuguese ingredients

Preparation

  1. Start by crushing the garlic well with the chili peppers, then mix in all the ingredients except the salt.
  2. After thoroughly cleaning the chicken, grill it whole over a good heat source (preferably electric or charcoal).
  3. When the fat starts to melt and drip, sprinkle the chicken with salt on both sides and continue grilling (since the chicken is tender, it will cook quickly).
  4. When it turns golden brown, brush it with the sauce and leave it on the grill for another 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Remove it, cut it into pieces, and brush it with a bit more sauce.
  6. Serve with a tomato salad and fries.
