4 chicken legs (with thighs)4 cloves of garlicSalt (to taste)1 pinch of black pepper1 pinch of paprika3 tablespoons olive oil1 tablespoon vegetable oil1 tablespoon lemon juice1 teaspoon red pepper flakesPiri-piri sauce, to tasteOlive oil, as needed4 medium sweet potatoes, cut into sticks

Preparation

  1. Start by mixing the olive oil, vegetable oil, lemon juice, paprika, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, piri-piri sauce to taste, salt, and pepper.
  2. Crush this mixture well using a mortar and pestle or a food processor.
  3. Wash the chicken legs, dry them well, and brush them with the marinade you prepared.
  4. Then, fry the chicken in a little olive oil over high heat for about 6 minutes on each side.
  5. Transfer the chicken to a baking tray, cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the aluminum foil, flip the chicken, and continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes.
  8. Fry the sweet potato sticks while the chicken is in the oven, once done, absorb any access oil on kitchen paper towels and season with salt to taste.
  9. Serve the chicken and fries hot, accompanied by a salad.
