Ingredients

2 chouriço sausages, casings removed and crumbled2 green bell peppers, de-seeded and chopped2 onions, peeled and chopped2 garlic cloves, crushed1/4 cup red wine1/2 cup of water2 tablespoons of olive oilSalt (to taste)Pepper (to taste)

Get Portuguese ingredients

Preparation

  1. In a slow cooker, combine the chouriço, green pepper, onion, olive oil, wine, water, crushed garlic, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir so that everything is evenly distributed. Cover, and set on Low.
  2. Cook for 8 hours.
  3. Once done, uncover the pot, and cook an additional 2 hours to allow some of the liquid to evaporate.
  4. Serve over rice, or with Portuguese bread rolls.

Yes, just make sure the 1/4 cup is half red wine vinegar and half water.
