Ingredients

1 quart of ​tomato sauce¾ cup of finely chopped onions2 cups of tomatoes (peeled, seeded, skinned and chopped)1 clove garlic, minced¼ cup (4 tablespoons) of chopped parsleyKosher salt, to tasteFreshly ground black pepper, to taste

Get Portuguese ingredients

Preparation

  1. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, sauté the onions until they're translucent, about 5 minutes.​
  2. Add the tomatoes and garlic and continue to sauté until the tomatoes are soft, about 10 minutes.​
  3. Add the tomato sauce, bring to a simmer and reduce for about 10 minutes.​
  4. Season with the salt and pepper and serve right away.

Hi Julia, I would personally use peeled canned tomatoes, they are better for a sauce.
